As a student at this university we've made the following software available to you free of charge, to download onto your own devices.

If you need help installing any of this software, visit your campus IT service desk.

Library Services want to improve the user experience for students needing to download ebooks, particularly if using your own own devices.

  • Students, All students can access Adobe when using a machine on any of our campuses.

If you wish to install Adobe on your personally owned computer, please speak with your course leader to see if access to the Adobe suite can be provided to you.

If Adobe is essential for your studies you will be allocated an individual licence and be able to gain access by logging into adobe.com with your student email address and normal USW password

If access to Adobe is not deemed essential for your studies, you can still access a  free version here; https://spark.adobe.com/students/

Most major publishers use Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) to proof-read their books. Download this free eReader to experience your books in the most optimum format across PC, MAC, tablets or mobile devices. Use it to download and purchase digital content, which can be read both online and offline.

Archicad is only available directly from Graphisoft. To download Archicad software for Microsoft Windows or Apple Mac, click myarchicad and register an account. You will then be able to download the software directly.

To download Autodesk software for Microsoft Windows or Apple Mac, click autodesk and register an account. You will then be able to download the software directly.

The University of South Wales (USW) offers a campus-wide license for MATLAB, Simulink, and add-on products, on and off campus, on any device. These applications are essential tools for algorithm development, data analysis, modelling, and visualization. The license includes access to MathWorks learning resources and self-paced online trainings to quickly develop your MATLAB and Simulink skills.

License installation

For instructions on downloading the software and other resources, go to USW’s MATLAB Portal.

To install and activate MATLAB on your device select “Sign in to get started” and proceed with the required steps using your university email address.

At this university you have the opportunity to download Office 365 to your personal devices.

This offering will allow installations on multiple devices for staff and students. You will be signing in through the Microsoft Office 365 portal, but at this present time the University of South Wales is only allowing the download of Microsoft Office applications.

To sign in go to Microsoft Office 365 Portal and login with your University email address.

Visit the USW Office 365 Portal for more information and easy access to training and supporting materials.

On USW devices, Solidworks is locally installed in teaching labs and available via Uniapps directly in places like the library.

If installing on your personal device, you will need to use the serial number and download link provided on the Uniapps page.
